I highly recommend black-oiled sunflower seed for your bird feeder. It is pretty much all I put out unless it isn’t available and I have to use something else. I go through 80 lbs. or more in a month. It brings all sorts of birds to the feeder. The only drawback is the empty shells, but my backyard is a natural space so I just leave it under the feeders. The rain eventually washes it away.
