This year is the first year that the Alabama Coastal Birdfest is sponsored by Alabama Audubon. The Tern Island trip is one of the new field trips. It was a great experience.

The Alabama Coastal Birdfest offers opportunities to visit places you would never have the ability to visit without owning a boat. Tern Island is on of those places. It is 3/4th of a mile off of Dauphin Island.
Tern Island Birds
I’m not the best when identifying shore birds, so I hope Google got it correct on the sandpipers. Tern Island is only accessible by boat. I was able to visit on a Coastal Birdfest field trip.
