Day is Done

Day is done, gone the sun is the first line to one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard: Taps. When I was in high school, the trumpet player went behind the stadium to play “Taps” during our Veterans Day ceremonies. The sound of the 24 notes resonated in the hollow of the cement stand opening and brought chills and tears to everyone who listened. The memory still affects me to this day.
