This was one of my favorite Chinese lanterns at the SeaLight Festival in Miramar Beach, Florida. I don’t remember ever reading about a dragon with the body of a fish. This is what I found when looking it up: The Aoyu is a carp in the process of becoming a dragon and has the body of a fish with the head of a dragon. This symbolizes the creature’s entrance into a whole new world and signifies the beginning of a glorious future.
