The cluster of plants around the base of the parent plant are known as “pups.” It doesn’t necessarily take a century for the plant to flower. It may bloom as soon as eight years. Unfortunately, the plant dies after it blooms. Fortunately, the pups can take over after the dead plant has been removed.
