On an Alabama Coastal Bird Festival field trip at the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, we saw these endangered Mississippi Sandhill Cranes. They are so named because they are only found in Mississippi. The refuge has raised and released some of the now almost 200 crane population. A lot of them will return to the refuge to feed.
