On one of the Coastal Birdfest trips, I met some birders who added me to their birding phone group. They test when they find interesting birds in the area. I don’t even know the names of the people in the group. Someone texted about a Goldeneye being seen at the Claude Peteet Mariculture Center. The next day, I drove down and found it. This is only the 2nd time I’ve seen this breed of duck. I texted the group that it was still there and as I was leaving someone showed up looking for the goldeneye.
