I’m not sure if the water was too shallow or the Brown Pelicans just didn’t feel like diving, but all of the ones that I watched made soft landings on the water and then dunked their bills to catch a fish. When at the beach, most of them will make high dives into the water to catch fish. Maybe it is the difference of fresh water to salt water. Either way, it is fun to watch.
