The Inca Dove used to be a rare sighting in Baldwin County. Now they are spotted in a couple of different places. Common Ground Doves aren’t very common anymore. I’m happy to spot both in my yard. They are both smaller than Mourning and White-winged doves. There small size and scaled pattern on their feathers helps to identify them. The Inca Dove has a scaly pattern across its back while the Common Ground Dove only has it on the neck and breast area.
