It is not often that you see the ruby-crown that this bird is named for. I’ve only seen it two or three times. This was not one of them. I do occasionally see them in my yard. This one was spotted down by the creek. I had to be quick with my focussing because it jumps from branch to branch and doesn’t stay long before it flies off to another tree. They are hard to spot among the branches because they blind in with the foliage.
