Red Tugboats at the Dock

Leaving the dock on the Pensacola Bay City Ferry, I noticed two tugboats that I thought deserved a couple of photos. They looked brand new, but you can see from my internet search that they were built in the 1970’s. I am always amazed at how much information is found on the internet. If you know the name of a boat, you can find a lot of the boat’s history and location.

The vessel BUCK PATE (IMO 7729485, MMSI 368399530) is a Tug built in 1977 (49 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of United States (USA). https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/7729485

The vessel John Turecamo was built in 1972, by the Matton Shipyard Company of Cohes, New York (hull #340) as the Mary Turecamo for the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York. She was renamed John Turecamo in 1989. In 2018, she was acquired by the Port Side Marine and Towing Company of Pensacola, Florida. Where the tug retained her name. http://www.tugboatinformation.com/tug.cfm?id=10569
