This kite was being flown on the beach near the Gulf State Park Pier. It was a windy day so it was easy to keep the kite in the sky.
A kite is an object that uses the force of wind to fly. Its flight is controlled by a flying line or lines. The technical term for a kite is “tethered aerodyne,” with “tether” meaning a line or lines connected to the kite and “aerodyne” meaning something that flies. https://www.kite.org/about-kites/
