The captain on our Historic Blakeley State Park cruise forecast a beautiful sunset and he was correct. He said, and I’ve heard it before, that the sands from the coast of Africa (Saharan Dust) are to thank for our colorful sunsets. It can cause skies to look hazy and make sunrises and sunsets particularly pretty, thanks to the dust in the air filtering light. https://www.al.com/hurricane/2024/06/dust-from-the-sahara-desert-to-help-keep-hurricanes-at-bay-for-now.html
