Weeks Bay Reserve sponsored a guided nature walk to see a new property that is now open to birders. It has a few small ponds and had a nesting pair of Black-crowned Night Herons last year. While we were walking by the pond, we spotted this heron. It blended in so well that it was hard to spot for a few minutes, but then it flew and landed in the front of a tree which gave everyone a good view. Even so, it still blended in pretty well.
