It is interesting to watch the Eastern Bluebird parents at feeding time. They never fly directly into the happy home after picking up food. They fly to a tree branch or the telephone wire and watch the area before flying to the top of the birdhouse. It could be they sense my presence and verify that I’m not a threat before feeding their babies. Both the male and female take turns with feeding. I’m sure they are worn out by the end of day because feeding takes place numerous times each day.
